ILP #1

Particpation:
1. For my ILP I watched the lynda course titled "Learning to be more promotable". The course consisted of a bunch of really short videos that added up to about an hour. I completed the entire course on Tuesday Febuary 27th. I watched 3-4 videos at a time throughout the day. 
2. These screenshots show the first two sections (there were 5 total) after completing these first two sections I realized it's best to watch each section as a whole and then reflect on it and then start the next section later. This is exactly how I would structure the use of a lynda course in my classroom. Despite the fact that I picked this course because I wanted the content for my own development, I still learned how to use Lynda in an educational setting.
3. There is not a product from this lynda course but I did learn a lot of skills that I can use moving forward in my career. I really learned the difference between just ok interactions with superiors and great interactions with superiors. Those different interactions are the deciding factor on if you get promoted or not. My mom and sister actually wrote this course so it was really interesting to see their boring work stuff in action, in a way that I could use. It also really bothered my sister that I used a video of her for school and annoying her is always fun.

Adaptive technologies can support many diverse learners. The main point of adaptive technologies are to translate information into a medium that makes it accessible to someone. They provide some free tools to teachers, create professional development, and organize conferences for educators.

ILP #2

For my independent learning project I created a "meet your teacher day" flyer in photoshop. I used creative commons images from bing for the graphics and created the text on my own. I used a different different lay for each section of text so that I could manipulate the spacing, font size, font, and colors.

I think the flipped classroom can be a good idea in a few circumstances but it usually does not work. It is very difficult to engage students outside of the classroom. I think teachers often use the flipped classroom to save time but if a flipped classroom is done correctly, the lesson planning should take longer than the average lesson. https://www.ted.com/talks/salman_khan_let_s_use_video_to_reinvent_education this ted talk gives a good perspective on flipped classroom I really liked the powerpoint assignments. I did not realize how easy it was to add audio into a powerpoint. I really liked this feature because it made my powerpoint more effective because I could explain myself more.
