Most of my experience with technology is with creative work. I am a photographer and I know how to use photoshop very well. The visual aspect of technology appeals to me more. I am very good at making powerpoints and other mediums look nice. However, I am not as skilled at using these tools to their full potential. I am not very familiar with excel and sometimes I struggle with formatting things in word. I would say I know everything I need to function in my life and my education but not much beyond that.

I hope to learn how to use word in a more effective way and how to use excel. I also hope to learn how to present my ideas through technology in a way that other people can understand easily. I have no plans of going into education but I think this information can be helpful in any field.

I have actually taken this test before so this information was not new to me. I am ADHD so I have taken dozens of tests to learn about how I learn. What I do find interesting is that my results vary a little bit every time I take this. I tend to flip flop between active and reflective. However, on sequential vs global I am always extremely global. It is helpful to see how my learning styles have changed as my brain develops. When I took these as a little kid I was much more visual than verbal and now I am kind of in the middle.

For my independent learning project I created a "meet your teacher day" flyer in photoshop. I used creative commons images from bing for the graphics and created the text on my own. I used a different different lay for each section of text so that I could manipulate the spacing, font size, font, and colors.

I think the flipped classroom can be a good idea in a few circumstances but it usually does not work. It is very difficult to engage students outside of the classroom. I think teachers often use the flipped classroom to save time but if a flipped classroom is done correctly, the lesson planning should take longer than the average lesson. https://www.ted.com/talks/salman_khan_let_s_use_video_to_reinvent_education this ted talk gives a good perspective on flipped classroom I really liked the powerpoint assignments. I did not realize how easy it was to add audio into a powerpoint. I really liked this feature because it made my powerpoint more effective because I could explain myself more.
